39th World Chess Olympiad 2010; Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia (19-09-2010/04-10-2010)

The 39th Olympiad didn't work out very well for our team. We ended up outside of the top 5, the places we were aiming for. With 7 victories, 1 draw and 3 defeats our team took 11th place. Russia-1 became 1st with a fantastic performance of winning all their matches.

I was in the race for an individual medal for a very long time. After 8 rounds I was leading with a score of 7 out of 8 and a performance of 2646. In the 9th round small drama took place when I blundered in totally winning position with 37..Rg6?? allowing mate. In the next 2 rounds I forgot to win both games, in 10th round missing 2 winning moves and in last round spoiling a winning endgame. I finished with 7,5 out of 11, a performance of 2492 and I won 7,4 ratingpoints.
